Mid-June Garden Update

Our basil plants are doing well, despite the best efforts of some hungry grasshoppers. We’ve already made our first batch of pesto!

Here are our maximum security tomato cages that we made out of old metal fencing.

Our herbs are growing nicely, except for the purple basil. As the Buddha said, “All beings crave life. Except for purple basil.”

We also built a trellis for our pickling cucumber. The cat scratched at the trellis support yesterday and sneezed five times. I’m hoping that’s an omen of a bountiful harvest.

About Robot Housekeeping

I'm much too manic to blog about only one topic. I write Robot Housekeeping so that I can share my love of all things vintage and domestic. Sometimes, I even leave the house.
